Should a numismatic issue fall short of the coins intended for online reservation, please be informed that items may be purchased directly from the counters of the NBR’s regional branches, without reservation, starting 16 December 2024.
As of 16 December 2024, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin dedicated to the History of Gold – The Apahida Hoard.

Obverse: a buckle from Apahida Hoard, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “10 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2024”.
Reverse: two eagle-shaped saddle appliques and the inscriptions “TEZAURUL DE LA APAHIDA” and “ISTORIA AURULUI”.
The gold coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by booklets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The maximum mintage is 1,000 gold coins.
The selling price for the gold coin, including the booklet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 940.00, VAT excluded.
The gold coins dedicated to History of Gold – The Apahida Hoard are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The coins are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
